interactive3dconstruction

About

The interactive 3D construction project is  a Victorian E-learning Innovations project outcome developed by Kangan Institute, with seed funding from the national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.

We are building 3d resources for building students that will allow them to look around building frame parts such as walls, ceiling, roof and floors. The resource will have hotspots that will give descriptions or information about the part they are viewing.

The resource can be modified via an xml document linked to the application. The hotspots on the building frames can’t be moved with XML but the content attached can be. The original flash files will be supplied so that a developer with flash knowledge can move the hot-spots around.

The models used in the project were built using Google Sketchup by a building trainer and can be re-used in other projects.

  • Howard Errey: looking forward to seeing what responses you get and what other uses you can put this to.
